WELCOME TO SONSHINE PRESCHOOL!
We're excited that you're interested in Sonshine Preschool! As a ministry of Hope Community, Sonshine is committed to "Loving Children, Serving Families, and Touching Lives!" Our mission is to provide families with a safe, Christ-centered, developmentally appropriate and nurturing environment where children can develop a love of learning. Our classrooms are staffed with educated and experienced teachers who reflect the warmth and joy of daily Christian living. Our program is balanced to meet the spiritual, social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and academic developmental needs of each student.

Curriculum
Sonshine Preschool teachers creatively build a Christian, play-based, themed curriculum that aligns with the Nevada Pre-K standards. Our themes change every 1-2 weeks and teachers use the Nevada Pre-K standards to provide children with the foundational skills needed to be successful in their education and beyond. We do chapel in class at least twice a week and focus on positive guidance strategies in the classroom in order to support social and emotional learning.
Ages
Sonshine accepts children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old. All children who are enrolled in the 3 year old through pre-k (5 year olds) classes ARE REQUIRED to be full potty trained prior to attending Sonshine Preschool. Students must wear underwear (no pull-ups or diapers) and be willing to always use the potty. 2 year olds ARE NOT REQUIRED to be fully potty trained prior to enrolling in the 2 year old class, we help with that process! School Hours & Schedule
Sonshine Preschool is open Monday through Friday, 7:30am-5:30pm. We offer 2, 3, or 5 half day and 2, 3, or 5 full day schedules for students. We follow the WCSD annual calendar for holidays and breaks. We also follow the WCSD for inclement weather delays and closures.
Enrollment & Tuition
If you are interested in scheduling a tour or enrolling at Sonshine Preschool, please contact our director, Tammy - tammy@sonshinereno.org. You can also call us at (775) 284-4673 or go to our Enrollment & Payment tab to find our enrollment application. You can email it to Julia or just bring it with you when you come in for a tour! We break tuition down weekly, but tuition is charged monthly and is due by the 5th of each month. We also accept Children’s Cabinet funding. We look forward to meeting you and your child(ren)!
